Standard of Excellence
So, to start off a few
weeks ago President Gifford established a standard of excellence. The Missionaries
have to open their mouths 10 times every day (at least) to find new people and
many other things. With this there are some areas that have trouble and so
Elder De La Cruz and I have been working to strengthen the faith of the people
in our zone. He loves talking with EVERYONE and that has helped me a lot. One
day we talked with more than 50 people for the first time. The vision of the President
is that with every street contact we talk about repentance and baptism so that
they know why we are here and so that they know that they will be blessed. It
has been funny how God puts the people in our path.
On Wednesday or Thursday
we had already talked with more than 10 people for the first time and we had an
appointment so we started heading toward that appointment and we saw a woman
walking very fast and so like always we stopped her and started talking to her.
She was in a hurry and said "look guys I’m very busy and I can’t talk with
you now." something that everyone says and so I
started thinking that maybe she was just like everyone else and not interested
so we took her information and set an appointment for Friday night and then we
left.
On Friday we went to the appointment and she was there and was
very interested. On Friday we had an intercambio with the assistents so Elder
Glenn and I started teaching her. It was cool to see that she was one of the
chosen people. She came to a baptism and went to church Sunday. I know that God
Is preparing people here in Los Hornos specifically for me. Elder Rasband
promised us that there were people ready to be found and if we were diligent
and patient we would find them and bring them home.
