Another great week!

We had a great week and this week is going to be even better. This week we had a conference with our new mission president, president Gifford who is a stud. We each had a few minutes to introduce ourselves to him and it was awesome. Then his wife introduced them and then he bore his testimony. You could feel the spirit radiating off of him. I am so excited for our next zone conference! The conference was in Quilmes and it brought back memories. I was walking the same streets, greeting the same people standing on the same corners and sitting in the same pews. The conference was awesome and the spirit was so strong.

We had a ton of people in church this week. 90 to be exact and 10 of them were investigators. Next week is transfers and anything is possible but Elder Torres and I hope that we will both stay but that is unlikely. I will let you know next week what happens. This picture is arroz chaufa that we made for lunch Friday because Elder Torres was sick. We found out what is making him sick, churi, so he will not eat any more.

This week also we had a great time teaching people. Two families that we are teaching is the Familia Contreras and the Familia Garcia. The Familia Contreras we found as a member reference. Members usually don’t give us references but as we were eating with the Familia Andino a couple weeks ago we shared Alma 6:6 and asked for a reference (like we always do) but this time it stuck. The dad decided to share his testimony with his neighbor two houses down. They are a part member family that we didn’t know about and they accepted. When we came to lunch the next week, the dad said "Elders I have 4 baptisms for you guys". The entire family was really receptive. Their names are Nelida, Yamila, Maya, Hiera, Jasmin, and Augustin. They are awesome!

The familia Garcia is also awesome. Jorge the dad is not a member but his wife Elena and children Luzera and Marcos are members. We started teaching them when Marcos and Elena walked into church a few weeks ago and we started teaching them. They are truly awesome people! Jorge was friendly but didn’t want anything until he saw his son get baptized a few weeks ago. Now he is preparing for his own baptism. This week I got word that I will do 2 baptismal interviews this week. I am excited to be a part of the process of helping people make this covenant with God in a way that I have never done before. I am a little nervous but excited for this opportunity. I know that the church is true, Russel M. Nelson is a prophet and that this is the work of God. I know God Exists and that we can come closer to him by reading the scriptures, specifically the book of Mormon.

Love you guys and hope that you have a great week!

Love, Elder Cahoon
