The World Cup
Well this week was awesomely
weird. Tuesday, we had district meeting and then went to work. We had quite a
few lessons that we taught nothing abnormal. On Wednesday we had a multi-zone
conference and it was awesome! I could see all of my friends from the mission
that were in Avellaneda, Quilmes Berezategui and Florencio Varela. There
President Nuñez gave us his farewell mission talk with the added words of
advice for the future.
1 Keep a current
temple recommend and be worthy of it.
2 Stay away from the fashion
of the world.
3 Always follow the
spirit.
4 Sustain the church
leaders and follow their council.
5 Keep your covenants.
His last words were
"Many have asked me where I will be or what I will do after the mission,
and the answer, I will be side by side with my wife and kids ministering."
We had a chance to take pictures with President and then we left.
The next day I was sick
with a stomach bug and Elder Torres was sick Friday. Saturday, we said ok let’s
hit the ground running, but Argentina was thinking of taking the day sitting,
watching the world cup. We were able to teach one good lesson while the world
cup was going and one directly after. We have two for sure baptisms this
transfer and are excited to keep serving in this work. On Saturday we got a
call from the bishop asking us to give two talks. My topic was the way that
living the Gospel Blesses Families. We were both able to throw something
together quickly and have it turn out great.
I don’t have too much
more time but I know that the church is true, that the Gospel Blesses families
spiritually and temporally. I know that we Families are eternal. I know that If
we follow the prophet and his counsel, we are following the counsel of God.
Love Elder Cahoon!
