Asado and a Baptism!
(Fonzy's first homemade Asado and he's wearing his Lionel Messi jersey that we sent him to celebrate the World Cup)
So last week was a
little bit slower with the conferences and being sick, and I remember that when
I was writing the email that I said that I hope that this next week is a little
more eventful....... yeah, I should not have said that. It was an interesting
week with two intercambios and a lot of things that we needed to do to prepare
for the Baptism of Marcos Garcia. Marcos Garcia is evidence that god is
preparing people to receive the restored gospel. Marcos is the son of Elena
Garcia who is a member that I had never met. A few weeks ago, she walked into
the chapel and said "Hi missionaries, my name is Elena Garcia, this is my
son Marcos. He is ten and wants to get baptized. When can you pass by our
house?" We just stood there with our mouths open. We went to his house and
worked with him to teach him all the lessons and he got baptized this week. I
had my testimony strengthened a lot this week because of this experience.
This week on Sunday
President and Sister Gifford will start their mission and we are excited to see
what will change and what will stay the same. President Nuñez was an Awesome
President and President Gifford will be just as Awesome. They both were called
by God to guide us crazy missionaries.
I don’t have a lot of
time but, I love the church, I love the Gospel. I know God lives, and although
more and more people are stopping believing in God I know that he is our loving
Heavenly Father and he is always there to listen. I know the Book of Mormon is
true. I love you all!
Love Elder Cahoon
