I LOVE Bosques!
Wow this area is
insane!!!!! The ward is amazing!!! We have an amazing ward mission leader named
Hermano Miranda. He has a huge heart and is always happy. He is a little weird
but I have not met a member who cares more for the mission more than him.
(Fonzy is in a pench with Elder Glenn again! Elder Glenn was his first companion in the field.)
Elder Torres is an
awesome missionary!!! He is always thinking about the investigators we have and
does everything in his power to help them. The area has been cared for well for
many months, with every missionary who comes in leaving it better than they
found it, and because of that this area is one of the best areas in the
mission. The only down side is that we don’t live in our area. In fact we have
to take at least a 25 minute bus ride every day to get to and from our area.
We had a great week.
We had a couple appointments that fell through the first few days and Elder
Torres got a little sad about that but because that happened we decided to go
visit the familia Varamindí on Wednesday. When we were there we found out that
the Grandma, who is a member, is going back to Peru on Wednesday and wanted to
see her grandchildren baptized before she leaves. They had received all of the
lessons and had gone to church all the times required but needed to get
permission from the parents. They had not given permission last week when they
had asked, but we asked again and the parents gave us permission. We had to go
to Quilmes because Elder Torres had to do paper work to be legal to live in
Argentina. We found out at 2:00 the day before he needed to be there and so we
took the 45-minute bus ride back and slept in the assistants pench, 8 blocks
from my old pench. I then spent the next day in the offices waiting for Elder
Torres to finish paperwork. We had the Baptism of Nahuel and Marilen Varamindí
yesterday in the night.
There are a lot of
people who we are working on teaching who are ready for baptism. We have talked
and think that we can have one baptism every week. I am super excited for the
next few weeks.
I don’t have a lot of
time but, the Church is true and the book is blue!
Love Elder Cahoon!
