Week Five
I cant believe that it has already been five weeks! The next few days will be extremely hard with leaving the MTC and actually being in the field. The biggest thing that happened this week was we went proselyting on Saturday. Elder Redmond and I had an awesome time in our area. We had two major city roads in our area that was 5 blocks by 8 blocks and we both had a feeling to go to the top section. Right off the bat we found a couple to talk two and they were confused at why we didn't use the cross in our church but we cleared that up. They didn't want to meet with more missionaries though. We then went 4 hours without talking to anyone (dang siesta). We covered the entire area and couldn't stop anyone. We prayed a lot during the four hours and we had a prompting to go back up to the top and zig zag our way back down. As we were heading down I had a feeling to stop for a few minutes and then to cut down a side street right where we had prayed one of the times. We saw a woman walking with her young daughter and we talked to her literally three feet from where we had prayed two hours earlier. We learned that she had been baptized into the church when she lived in Bolivia but had become inactive. We talked for a little bit and she said that she wanted to come back. We got her contact information for other missionaries and gave her a book of Mormon because she had lost hers. Five minutes later we had another prompting to stop on a street corner and we saw a guy crossing a street. We talked with him and he was also interested. It was definitely a better day proselyting because although we didn't have as many people we had people who were more interested and wanted to know more.
My favorite thing that I have Memorized is "Vi una columna de luz, más brillante que el sol, directamente arriba de mi cabeza; y esta luz gradualmente descendió hasta descansar sobre mí......" Whoever names it first in my emails is awesome and may get an Alfajor when I come home.
My time is up but I love y'all back home.
I don't know if y'all can tell but English is becoming hard for me.
The only major thing that happened this week was the flag was at half mast yesterday and today because of something that happened on Halloween. The last time it was half mast was because of Las Vagas. I don't know a lot and I don't want to.
The new group of missionaries is.... special. They have done a lot of stuff that has gotten them in trouble. President Benton was worried they would pull some thing on Halloween and they did, even after being talked to. President knew they would though and so he came over at lights out to make sure lights were out. Elder Redmond and I are room coordinators and so if we had had any of the bad kids we could have gotten in trouble. We talked to everyone in our room and they all behaved.
