Transfers!

So, this week was the end of the transfer and there was a HUGE change. Don’t worry, both myself and Elder Torres are staying, but the huge change is that I was senior companion last transfer and did not have any other responsibilities but now I have a responsibility. I am District Leader. Other than being a little worried about my new responsibility I am GREAT!!!! Elder Torres and I had a goal to help 8 people get baptized this transfer and as you can tell by my weekly pictures we did it. Only because we had the help of God.

This week we worked really hard, were obedient and had God on our side and we had a great week! We were able to teach many people and help them make their first covenant with God over the last six weeks. We helped Nahuel and Marilen Varamindi, Valentina and Facundo Fernandez, but this week was very special. Elder Ferriera, one of my great friends in the mission was here in Bosques about one year ago and taught a lot of people. Two of the families were the Merlo-Sanchez family and the Ribero family. This transfer he had a special assignment. He did not have an area and he and his comp had the entire mission as their area. He came to Bosques to have an intercambio and stayed for Sunday to go to church. The Merlo-Sanchez family, who were a part member family, came and he talked to them and said that if they took the lessons and it was ok with us he could come back to baptize them. This may have been just what they needed to really get working again. He was able to baptize them on Saturday. Then we have the Ribero Family. Elder Ferriera also Baptized Darío Ribero and this week Darío had the opportunity to baptize his grandson Alexis. The in-laws of the Merlo Sanchez family are the Alves Family. Ivan Alvez and his family were inactive and there was a lot happening with his family. He was Driving to play soccer and the field he usually plays at didn’t have light on so he started driving and ended up at another field way far away, right across the street from the temple. He saw that and took it as a sign that he needed to get his life in order and so he started going again. Later his entire family followed and he was able to baptize his little brother Saturday as well. It was an incredible transfer and we could see the hand of God throughout. I know that if we put our lives in the hands of God he will help us do what we need to do and become the people he wants us to become!

Love Elder Cahoon
