First Baptism and a New Companion
Hello, hello!
Wow! This
week was killer. We worked really hard this last week. As the district leader
Elder Glenn had to do intercambios with the offices which is really hard
because they have a lot of stuff to do but, we successfully got the last three
intercambios in. He also had to do 4 baptismal interviews this week. On top of
that we also had to have one more of our investigators get interviewed. It
honestly was one of the hardest weeks of the mission. Our district has 8
missionaries in it. The Assistants, The Offices, Quilmes 1A, and Pantanos. Elder
Glenn had to do baptismal interviews for everyone except for Pantanos.
Our
investigators Axel and Rocio both were baptized on Saturday and confirmed on
Sunday. Axel asked me to baptize him and Rocio asked me to confirm her. We held
the baptismal service at the same time as the Offices (Elder Romero and Elder
Cuteck) who both baptized one person as well. President Nuñez extended the
invitation to all the missionaries to baptize one person before the month was
over and we accomplished that. Sunday came and it came time to confirm Rocio. I
was a little nervous mostly because of the priesthood blessing. In Spanish we
as missionaries speak in Usted to show respect but prayers are always done in
Tu form. Tu is the informal form that you would use with a close friend. I rarely
speak in Tu form but I thought a lot about what I could say and when I got up to
say the blessing everything just flowed out as if someone had turned a switch
on in my mind. I know that I made some mistakes but I don’t think I said what I
had considered saying. The spirit was so strong during the baptisms and confirmations.
On Friday
the new transfers came out and Elder Glenn got the news that he was going and I
got the news that I was staying. My new comp is Elder Smith from north Salt
Lake and he had a long day of travel. He came from the Middle of the mission
and had to take a bus ride. I have only been his comp for a little time but I
can already tell that we will be good friends.
I am
almost out of time but I want all of you to know that I am exactly where I need
to be. I am Happy, I am safe, and I am serving God. I know this church Is the church
of Jesus Christ!
