Week Two

This week was awesome!!! Elder Redmond and I worked hard to learn how to teach with each others teaching styles and our last three lessons worked amazing. We even got the last one to cry. These are obviously fake investigators but they are all based on real people. One of them was in English the others were in Spanish. I feel I am learning the language really well. We have language workshops every couple of days with one of the coolest men ever. His name is hermano Agüero and he has a crazy life story. The best part he put into the January 2006 New Era, it is called "The Price For Good Things". Another good read from this week is "After All We Can Do".

We went proselyting with one of the other districts. My companion was Elder Frandsen. Our purpose was to practice our Spanish and to get people for the missionaries in the area to teach. We got seven refusals and Placed Two Book of Mormons. We ate lunch at Le Torre Pizza and had awesome empanadas. They are feeding me well at the CCM (MTC). A lot of meat and rice, mostly steak and chicken.

We have 8 people in our bedroom and 10 in our district. We will take some cool pictures at the temple tomorrow. The way the MTC works is cool. If you speak Spanish fluently you are in the 3 week program and if not you are in the 6. There are 2 districts of 6 weekers who come in with each batch of 3 weekers. The 6 weekers who came in three weeks before us leave with the 3 weekers Monday. This means we will be alone with one other district for a few days and the food will likely be better. I have a lot of good friends in the group leaving for their missions in a few days. I was talking with one of them named Elder Conant and learned that he played water polo with the Whiteheads (my cousins).

Weekly weird stuff:
1. The lanes don't mean anything to the drivers.
2. The drivers always merge and only leave inches in between the cars.
3. There are trash burning parties just off the freeway.
4. People will pull off the freeway and drive have picnics on the grass.

AND NOW PICTURE TIME!!!!!!
